Project Summary

Sproutt was engaged by Jolt Charge client to provide geospatial consultancy services to support the registration of Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure with Before You Dig Australia (BYDA). The project involved the creation of BYDA-compliant GIS data for EV charging sites across Australia, ensuring accurate representation of key infrastructure components including chargers, MSBs, underground cabling, and powered signage. The engagement addresses immediate needs while also considering scalable solutions for future deployments.

Our Approach

Sproutt reviewed site plans provided in various formats, extracting relevant asset information to produce high-quality, BYDA-compliant GIS datasets. Each site was digitised with key infrastructure components accurately mapped and attributed, including chargers, MSBs, cabling, and signage. In addition to preparing the data for submission, Sproutt developed conceptual dashboards and web maps to demonstrate how this spatial information could support broader business needs beyond BYDA, such as asset tracking, planning, and deployment monitoring.

Outcomes

Sproutt’s delivery of BYDA-compliant spatial datasets and conceptual dashboards has streamlined the client’s registration process and improved overall asset visibility. The scalable solution developed supports both immediate registration deadlines and future growth, while enabling the client to leverage spatial data beyond compliance, enhancing asset management, planning, and operational efficiency across their EV infrastructure network.
