Condition Assessment, Reporting, Asset ManagementProject Summary
Sproutt was engaged by the Council to conduct a comprehensive Street Furniture Condition Audit, covering assets such as bin surrounds, benches, picnic sets, bike racks, drinking fountains, flagpoles, monuments, and artworks within road reserves. The audit aimed to capture detailed asset data, including condition ratings and accessibility features, to inform future maintenance and asset management decisions.
Our Approach
Sproutt commenced the project with a desktop review using available aerial and other imagery to identify potential asset locations, prioritising high-traffic and community-focused areas. A pilot study was then conducted jointly with Council representatives to validate data formats and standardise condition ratings. Field audits followed, using non-destructive visual assessments to capture detailed, digital records of each asset’s location, size, material, DDA compliance, and condition on a 1–5 scale. All data was quality assured and aligned with codes from Sproutt’s previous Open Space (Reserves) project to ensure consistency and usability.
Outcomes
Sproutt’s comprehensive street furniture audit has delivered a high-quality dataset capturing the condition and accessibility of assets throughout the Council’s road reserves. The information supports targeted maintenance and asset renewal, while the inclusion of DDA compliance assessments ensures the Council is meeting accessibility standards. This audit provides a strong foundation for ongoing infrastructure management and improved community amenity.
