berri streetscape design

Berri Barmera Council

Berri Barmera Council has identified the need to upgrade their main road and pedestrian footpaths network, as part of a staged streetscape upgrade throughout the township area. Improvements are to include new footpaths or a shared path, stormwater and carriageway upgrade, better parking facilities and elevated landscape elements. Such improvements aim to promote walking and cycling, provide for smooth and safe vehicle movements, soften the hardscape and increase canopy cover, provide an attractive framework/ complement the built form elements and increase sustainability and environmental outcomes.

McGilton Road is important strategically to Berri, containing a mix of uses along the corridor and new development, it must be upgraded to better service the community and increased pedestrian / vehicle traffic. More than an asset, McGilton Road provides a setting supporting township life, servicing, access, different transport modes and environmental systems.
