This project initially began with the aim of improving traffic movements for large vehicles at the intersection, localised drainage upgrade and upgrade of sidewalk to DDA compliance.

Sproutt arranged for the survey to be redone due to the inaccuracy of the original survey, and repeated the design to meet the client requirements, which now included the following variations:

• Tree removal

• Stormwater Improvement

• Footpath widening and material change

• Change in extents of project area

One of the primary challenges was to improve the alignment of the road to ensure that vehicles did not mistakenly turn into Ormerod Road (a dead-end) as they were travelling through Naracoorte, and to improve the turning path for B-doubles that do need to use the road to access local businesses. Sproutt were able to provide a design that met the clients requirements within the stipulated timeframes.
